Teacher Professional Development: Art and Cultural Exchange Trip to Foshan, Greater Bay Area
One of our school's key strategic development directions for the next three years is the construction of the Building CMS "Harmony of Cosmos, Earth, and Humanity" curriculum
(天地人合一課程). To align with this goal, the school organized a 2-day, 1-night teacher professional development training in August. The entire teaching staff traveled to Foshan—the renowned ceramics capital of the Greater Bay Area—for an enriching learning and cultural exchange experience.
Professional Exchange and Curriculum Learning
A major highlight of the trip was visiting Shiwan No.1 Primary School, renowned for preserving traditional Chinese ceramic arts. Our teachers gained valuable insights into their pottery curriculum, which enhances students' well-being by encouraging them to "discover, accept, and blossom." Guided by their Vice Principal, a celebrated artist, our staff also participated in a hands-on workshop to create their own ceramic pieces.
Cultural Exploration
During the visit, our management team held highly fruitful discussions with the host school, laying a solid foundation for future partnerships. To better understand the Greater Bay Area's historical and artistic development, the team also explored significant cultural sites, including the Nanfeng Ancient Kiln and Chengnan Water Town.
This Foshan trip marks our school's first cross-border teacher professional development program held in August in the past decade. The initiative concluded with success and highly positive feedback from the staff. Deepened our appreciation for both traditional Chinese culture and its rapid modern development.It not only broadened our teachers' cultural and artistic horizons but also strengthened team cohesion, injecting great energy and momentum into the upcoming academic year.
教師專業發展：大灣區佛山藝術與文化交流之旅
我們學校未來三年的重點策略發展方向之一，是建構 CMS「天地人合一課程」。為配合此發展目標，學校於八月份舉辦了為期兩日一夜的教師專業發展培訓。全體教職員前往大灣區著名的「陶都」——佛山，進行了一次豐富的學習與文化交流體驗。
專業交流與課程學習
這次旅程的一大亮點，是參觀以傳承中國傳統陶瓷藝術而聞名的石灣第一小學。我們的教師深入了解了該校的陶藝課程，該課程透過鼓勵學生去「發現、接受並綻放」，從而提升學生的身心健康，建構幸福人生。在身兼著名藝術家的副校長指導下，我們的教職員更參與了實作工作坊，親手製作屬於自己的陶瓷作品。
文化探索
訪問期間，我們的管理團隊與接待學校進行了非常富有成效的討論，為未來的合作夥伴關係奠定了堅實的基礎。為了更深入了解大灣區的歷史與藝術發展，團隊還探索了多個重要的文化景點，包括南風古灶及城南水鄉。
這次教師專業發展圓滿結束，加深了我們對中國傳統文化及其急速現代化發展的認識與欣賞。這不僅擴闊了教師們的文化與藝術視野，更增強了團隊的凝聚力，為即將到來的新學年注入了強大的活力與動能。
