20^th Parent-child Sports Day

Our CMS 20^th Parent-child Sports Day which was successfully held on 9^th April 2024, our talented students athletes, representing different grades and houses, demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship and determination throughout the event. From sprints to relays, long jumps to throwing, the students displayed remarkable efforts and unleashed their true potential. Beyond the physical achievements, the Sports Day provided an opportunity for our students to develop invaluable life skills, resilience in the face of challenges, and the joy of celebrating both personal and collective victories. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the teachers, staff, and parents’ volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the smooth running of the Sports Days. Your commitment and enthusiasm were instrumental in making this event a resounding success. Lastly, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding performances and commendable sportsmanship.

第二十屆親子運動會

天主教總堂區學校第二十屆親子運動會已於2024年4月9日順利舉行。各社健兒憑著決心和鬥志，踴躍參加比賽，展現出可敬的體育精神。從跑道至沙池、徑賽至田賽、個人至隊際，學生都能全力以赴在賽場上大放異彩。透過運動比賽，不僅能鍛鍊身體和訓練心志，更學會以正向樂觀的心態去面對比賽結果，學習到「勝不驕、敗不餒」之志。再次感謝各方通力合作，尤其家長義工的協助讓是次運動會得以順利舉行。最後，再次恭喜各得獎健兒，期望來年再創佳績。

Interschool Cultural Exchange Day

Interschool Cultural Exchange Day was successfully held on both April 12^th and 15th, with collaboration among teachers from TWGHs Sin Chu Wan Primary School, St Charle's School and Tung Chung Catholic School. The theme of the day was 'to meet, understand, and cherish each other'. Students from those three schools took a walking tour of the culturally rich Sheung Wan neighbourhood, using the Experiential Learning Approach to learn English vocabulary and document their experiences. Our P.4 and P.6 students demonstrated servant leadership by guiding their guest partners to complete some interesting missions. It was a unique and educational day, receiving sincere compliments from students, teachers, and parents.

跨校文化交流日

本校與東華三院冼次雲小學、聖嘉祿學校和東涌天主教學校於於4月12日至15日期間舉辦了跨校文化交流日。

當天的主題是「相遇、相知和相惜」。本校學生偕同友校的學生在充滿豐富歷史和文化氣氛的上環社區進行了一次導賞學習活動。當中通過體驗式學習方法，讓友校學生透過觀察和描述他們的體驗去學習英語。與此同時，我們的四和六年級學生通過友伴同行，與友校學生共同完成有趣的任務，亦實現了僕人領導的精神。

The Advanced PosEd Parenting Workshops

The Advanced PosEd Parenting Workshops in the second term, with five consecutive sessions (from 14^th March to 15^th April, 2024) receiving positive feedback from participants.

These workshops, designed to foster stronger family’s relationships through effective communication and shared parenting strategies, were conducted in both English and Chinese to cater for parents’ needs. We focused on establishing and nurturing strong emotional connections between parents and children. Experts shared strategies for regular engagement and understanding children's needs, emphasizing the importance of consistent love and support.

The workshop highlighted the critical role of communication in family dynamics. Parents learned how to effectively talk and listen to their children, fostering an environment where open and honest discussions are encouraged.

Participants were introduced to mindfulness techniques aimed at improving parental patience and awareness. The session provided practical exercises for managing stress and maintaining emotional balance, which parents could also teach their children to enhance self-awareness and empathy.

The workshops also provided a platform for interaction allowed parents to share their parenting challenges and successes, fostering a community of support and understanding. The workshops not only equipped parents with practical tools and strategies but also fostered a supportive community dedicated to positive parenting practices.

Plans for future sessions are underway, with considerations for expanding topics to accommodate the needs of our growing and diverse parent community.

正向教育家長工作坊(進階班)

第二期的五次正向教育家長工作坊(進階班)己於2024年3月14日至4月15日期間順利完成，在此衷心感謝家長們對是次活動的正面回饋。

是次工作坊以中英文雙語進行，以配合本校不同家長的需要，透過舉辦工作坊，本校期望家長能讓學會有效的家庭溝通技巧之餘，也可互助分享育兒策略，從而促進各個家庭的和諧關係。工作坊的內容集中於專家分享了解兒童需求的策略去建立良好親子關係，強調持續對孩子的愛和支持的重要性。研討會強調了溝通在家庭動態中的關鍵作用。 此外，課程亦提供了管理壓力和保持情緒平衡的實際練習，讓家長也可以教導孩子增強自我意識和同理心。

除此之外，研討會亦能成為一個讓父母可以分享他們的育兒心得的平台，建立一個互助鼓勵和支持的正向家長社群。

正向教育家長工作坊將來亦會考慮更多加入不同的主題和元素，以滿足我們不斷進步和多樣化的家長社區的需求。
